If there is such a thing as a perfect Harvest Host, Boris and Jorgette fit that bill beyond a shadow of a doubt. When I first read about their place and that they gave a woodworking demonstration, my thoughts were of a 10-minute demo in a shack in the back yard. I was so wrong. Boris' demo was a 2-hour, hands-on class on turning wood on a lathe. Having growing up with woodworkers and being married to one, I was quite familiar with everything Boris did and said. Besides being extremely talented, Boris also has extensive knowledge about wood, metals (tools) and woodworking machinery. He is a entertaining, funny, patient, kind. Jorgette is equally welcoming, warm and pleasant to converse with. She does quilting and has some of her work hanging in Boris' workshop, which is exquisite. Their tradition is to finish the evening toasting marshmallows over the fire on their back patio. We tried, but it was too windy and Boris couldn't get the fire going. Instead of just giving up, they invited us in their house and we cooked the marshmallows over the kitchen stove. If you are ever in Pueblo, CO, I strongly suggest staying at The Trolley Turner.

Oh my gosh, this was our first experience with Harvest host and we absolutely loved it. The hosts, Boris and Gorgette are an asolute charm. We can see us staying connected for a very long time. They are so welcoming. Boris gave us a wonderful experience on a wood lathe, and Gorgette was a very gracious host. They are VERY fun and we will definitely see them again and stay in touch.

Boris and Jorgette are an amazing couple. We were impressed with Boris’s knowledge of woods and lathe turning. He gave us an incredible demo with wonderful stories to match. Jorgette is fun loving and put together an evening campfire for all of us. Jorgette has lovely quilted items for sale and Boris has his signature master quality wood turned items. We are thrilled to be taking home a couple one of a kind items. Heartfelt thanks go out for a delightful stay. We feel like we have made new friends.

We had such a nice time with Boris and Jorgette. What a unique experience, and even if you don't think you're interested in turning wood on a lathe, you should definitely try to make it in time for the demonstration. Boris has a real love for turning wood and a true gift in sharing his talents and passion. And you even get a chance to turn some wood for yourself. Jorgette is equally talented in her quilting and a gracious host, including inviting us in for hot chocolate and marshmallows where we chatted with other guests and Boris and Jorgette for some time about many different things. They are RVers themselves and have lots of great stories to tell and insights into traveling different parts of the county. Parking is very easy and they have water available. There were 3 other RVs the night we were there and there is room for a few more. Site was pretty level, but we're in a camper van so don't have to worry too much about being level. It seems that Boris and Jorgette are planning on moving to Georgia sometime this summer and will continue to be a HH and offer the demonstrations. We will be sure to look for them in their new home. Bottom line, you should definitely give them a call for an overnight stop if you're in the area!

What a super couple and great hosts. Boris and Jorgette were amazing. Boris was very entertaining with his stories of life experiences, and his knowledge of wood turning is awesome. He spent several hours showing the technique and even let us do some turning on our own (with his guiding hand always there). Mark and I each had our ‘turn’ at making our very own wooden mallet, aka a Husband Adjuster. Jorgette was very gracious and invited us to join them around the fire pit for roasting marshmallows and more story swapping. What an enjoyable stay in Puebla West (where we just moved from in August). Now they are moving to Georgia, and so we just might have to make a long road trip to see them again. Thank you, Boris and Jorgette for everything.
